After business hours, messages will be taken by an answering service.

     All refuse MUST be contained in garbage cans or bags not to exceed 33-gallon size and not to exceed 40 pounds per container. All refuse and recyclable items should be placed no more than 2-3 feet from the edge of the road. Please have trash on the curb the night before so it is waiting for the drivers when they arrive, as collection times vary from city to city. Our drivers radio the office to advise us of those customers who fail to place their refuse out in time for pickup.

Stickers
     Illinois Valley Waste Services garbage stickers are available for $1.00 from the route drivers; from Sullivan's Foods in Princeton; Union bank in Manlius; Giant’s Den in Depue; B & C Food Mart in McNabb or at the Illinois Valley Waste Services office at 1922 Park Avenue W. in Princeton.
City of LaSalle - garbage stickers are available for $1.00 at IV Food Center, Econo Food, Save-a-Lot, Jewel, and Hy-Vee.
City of Oglesby- garbage stickers are available for $1.00 from John’s Service and Sales or Eureka Savings Bank.
Village of North Utica- garbage stickers are available for $1.00 from the Village Hall.
City of Spring Valley- garbage stickers are available for $1.50 at City Hall.
Village of Utica- stickers are sold at the Village Hall or at the Mill Street Market.

Tire Removal
     Illinois Valley Waste Services offers pick up service for service stations or garages for your used car, pickup or racing tires. We are unable to accept tires from individuals. We have added additional types of tires that we can dispose of.  We are a licensed tire hauler.

To have your used tires removed, call our office to be placed on the pick up schedule. Tires must be removed from rims.
Car or light Truck Tires (under 30”) – $5 per tire
Racing Tires – $6 per tire
Truck Tires (10:00, 11:00, 3:15 – over 30”) - $9 each
Super single truck tires – $10 each

Landfill Information
     Landfills cannot accept hazardous wastes such as petroleum products, liquid paints, acids, batteries, poisons, weed killers, insecticides, etc. Hazardous wastes cannot be placed out for removal. White goods (appliances) may not be placed in landfills.

     If you need to dispose of an appliance you will need to make arrangements with a salvage yard. Call our office for phone numbers of metal scrappers. Tires and batteries are also not accepted at landfills. Yard waste including branches, grass clippings and leaves must be placed in special disposal areas and not in landfills. Yard waste cannot be mixed with household garbage. We are unable to remove oil from food preparation or motor vehicles. If you are unsure if an item that you have can be taken to the landfill please call our office.

Animal waste may be removed. However, please be sure it is in garbage bags and not loose in the garbage can. Each can or bag must not weigh more than 40 pounds.

Transfer Station
     In January of 2004 Illinois Valley Waste Services took over operation of the Princeton Transfer Station. The Transfer Station is located on 101 Peggy Lane. Individuals may take their household waste, remodeling or construction debris to the Princeton Transfer Station for disposal. The rate is $ .02 per pound ($40 per ton) with a minimum charge of $1.00.

Yard waste service
     Please have yard waste out by 6:00 A.M. Yard Waste removal services are only provided for the cities of LaSalle, Spring Valley, Oglesby and Utica.

     Stickers must be applied to yard waste in Spring Valley, Utica, and Oglesby. Special City of LaSalle Kraft paper yard waste bags are required in LaSalle. Residents may purchase these bags at Herrcke’s Hardware or at the grocery stores in LaSalle or Peru. Bags, cans and yard waste should not exceed 40 lbs. Branches should be bundled and are not to exceed 4 feet long by 2 inches in diameter.

Holidays
     No collection on New Year’s Day, Memorial Day. July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day or whenever the disposal facility is closed. If your pickup falls on or after these holidays, collection will be one day later. If any of the above holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday, your pickup day will be unaffected.
