Residential garbage service is done in the
Village of Tonica on Tuesday. Curbside recycling is done every Tuesday.
Garbage and recycling should be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m.
Residents are billed for their garbage service on their water bills.
Each household may leave out two 32-gallon bags or cans
per week, not weighing over 40 pounds. Additional garbage requires a
garbage sticker. These stickers are $1 each and must be applied to every
can or bag left out over the 2 can limit. 45 gallon and 55 gallon
containers will not be emptied. Garbage stickers can be purchased at the
Tonica Phone Co.
Curbside recycling is done every Tuesday. Recycling
bins are provided for every residence. Additional recycling bins can be
purchased from the Village.
The Village of Tonica holds a Spring Clean Up day each
year. Each household is allowed one 4 x 8 x 3’ pile of garbage. The
following items will not be removed – yard waste, tires, auto parts,
batteries, hazardous waste, building materials, concrete, bricks or
blacktop.
